U.S. Regulators Agree to Investigate Apple's Patent Claims Against Samsung

u.s. international trade commission (itc) today announced has agreed investigate claims of patent infringement made apple against samsung.

investigation based on complaint filed apple inc. of cupertino, ca, on july 5, 2011. complaint alleges violations of section 337 of tariff act of 1930 in importation united states , sale of electronic digital media devices , components thereof infringe patents asserted apple. complainant requests usitc issue exclusion order , cease , desist orders.

apple kicked off dispute lawsuit filed against samsung in mid-april claiming number of samsung's smartphone , tablet devices had copied apple's designs , functionality. apple did not file complaint itc @ time.




dispute escalated after time, samsung filing number of countersuits , apple filing additional suits against samsung in number of countries. samsung took case itc in late june, move prompted apple follow suit week later. itc last week agreed investigate samsung's complaint against apple.

maneuvering comes bloomberg reports samsung has delayed launch of galaxy tab 10.1 in australia after reaching agreement apple related ipad maker's request injunction against release of galaxy tab. samsung has publicly stated still intends release galaxy tab 10.1 in australia in "near future" , never intended release u.s. version topic of injunction proceedings in australia. company has not, however, denied there has been delay in device's launch , apple have access australian version week before scheduled debut apple can determine whether amend injunction request include variation.

good. competion great plain stealing form factors , tech because 1 of manufacturers of competition's successful devices says lot of how samsung has no issues in ripping off customers (corporate , retail).
