Resolved Lion server required, or not?

hi there,

new apple macs. i'm w7 user on dell xps laptop getting end of life. new set-up based on apple (ipad, iphone convinced me). usage of computer office applications, mail, surfing, photo's , light programming.

challenge follows: have developed tool in excel runs couple of macro's on daily basis , feeds access database. excel gets data internet, formats data , uploads in database. me it's important run on daily basis , can check results remotely through mobile devices or laptop. want able remotely access tool via laptop correct or query database.

other requirements are:
- big screen programming, thinking of 27" screen here and
- 13" laptop

q1: require lion server daily running macro's , scripts , ensure remote access? or overkill?
q2": preferred hw set-up here? have in mind:
- imac 27 (with lion server) + mba 13
- mac mini entry model (with lion server) + mba 13 + led cinema display
- in case of no server: mba 13 + led cinema display

you don't need server this. can set event in ical run script. can access computer remotely using vpn client. may need vnc through firewall.
