Hard Drive Failure

ok, here story:

15" macbook pro's hard drive quit on me. got 120 gig ssd replace it. put in hard drive. whenever boots up, has grey screen. (it should grey screen apple logo). after goes away, tries load pc witht windows logo , loading bar. freezes because cant run system 32. obviously.

question is, how format drive, mac osx run on it. disc in mac, dont know if helps @ all.

answers appreciated, want mac fixed. help!
