Run FCP X on 2009 MBP? sloooowwwww

i'm wondering if has figured out how run fcp x on older mbp without bogging down maxed out cpu usage , stuttering playback? i've got 2009, 2.4ghz mbp 8 gigs of ram , 9600m gt card / 256mb.

stuff i've tried:
turn off auto render: helps ton , had 3 streams of 1080p 30 video playing on top of each other color correction on them
just edit pro res proxy: not sure how can tell if i'm using proxy of full prores422 codec when edit.

more @ fcp x more see it's got huge amount of new stuff , more realize have no idea how use it. putting obvious omission aside (multi-cam, tape stuff) think problem folks having it's different , new frustration comes not know how hell use new features.

use prores files on external firewire 800 or esata drive.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
