Complicated iPod touch home button problem.

i have read many different posts home buttons not responding sometimes. me, it's different. no matter how hard or press, randomly not register home button press @ all. jailbroken on 4.3.2. problem? issue started night after went concert. woke in morning , picked ipod , problem there. not work in row , after works perfectly. under warranty (if restore), there no apple store in country. have pay quite sum allow reseller courier ipod out of country. not sure parents happy because mum quite anti-apple. , hard restore quite hard on me because have lot of important data. should remove jailbreak , install 4.3.3 see if software related issue? if so, should on computer? quite paranoid on losing backup. thanks!

not sure whether has been liquid damaged. did not drop in water @ all, live in humid country. , going in , out of air-conditioned may have caused liquid damage. if liquid damage, have lost courier fee. in dilemma.

removed related home button in activator still has problem.

 

- sync itunes (note not apps installednon cydia)
- restorento unjailbroken 4.3.3
- check if if issue persists, if doesn't, great. if not:

- check if of water indicators have gone off (use google find out on device)
- replaced apple.

unfortunately see, home button seems quite vulnerable on idevices, wouldn't surprised if faulty. i'd surprosed if water damage indicators have gone off unless did wet...
