Family Computer Set up -- Need Help!

family of 4. have 1 x imac, 4 x macbook pros, , iphone. what's best set linking these to:

1) share files (music , photos)?
2) in time capsule?
3) able update software base computer (imac) (is possible)?

"os x lion server" software our best option?

appreciate advice experienced user. our first post.
 

1) modern routers have usb port can attach external hard drive to.
2) time capsule + partitions each computer.
3) not worth in small environment.

if don't know setting server, don't it.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
