Lion: address book: can't add new card

today address book isn't working anymore. can't add new cards. when want, address book hangs.

couldn't find solution yet.

tried:
imported backup (abbu) , older backups. didn't work
deleted abcddb file (library/application support/adress book). didn't work
did reinstall of addressbook lion "disk". didn't work
repaired disk permissions. didn't work

can, add info existing cards.

suggestions anyone?

those:
first make backup of address book!
deleted address book app zapper. map library/application support/adress book deleted. check if happened. if not, manually.
address book app has been deleted.
restart
open lion dmg , find package address book. install (double click).
restart
double click backup abbu file (you made earlier) in finder. not import backup through address book "import" option! once backup has been put in address book can open address book normal.
don't have clue why got these problems, procedure worked me.

 

terminal method solve edit address book problems

after talking apple support person, found following allowed me edit address book in lion, , solved number of niggling problems too. issues caused permissions , acl attributes.

restarted computer , pressed command-r during restart. brought utilities menu. ran terminal, , typed resetpassword, 1 word terminal. redid permissions , acls , edit address book again, , problems mobileme , drobo raid solved @ same time.
