Does iOS5 make reading pics from a flash drive any easier?

in camera club, slide show/critique of peoples photos once month. people supposed email pics me ahead of time lots of people don't i've been using laptop club's tv hooked since can plug in usb drives people bring meeting.

i've been wanting use ipad2 instead. concern has been reading images off usb drives. i've read can done camera connection kit if images in folder on usb drive named dcim etc. running ios5 beta have camera kit , can try reading usb drives it? awesome if worked.
