mobile app analytics firm localytics yesterday published widely-cited report measuring ratio of at&t verizon iphone 4s in united states, finding surge on past 2 months has increased verizon's share on 32% 4 , half months after device launched on carrier.

we do, however, have significant reservations localytics' data , how closely correlates actual device sales, based on known iphone activation numbers. looking @ earnings releases 2 carriers, verizon had announced 2.2 million iphone activations of end of march quarter, @ point in time localytics data put verizon's share of u.s. market @ 22.4%. in order verizon have held market share, at&t have had have activated on order of 7.6 million iphone 4s time.

that's rather useless data. sure, it's fun see ratio of iphone ownership between 2 companies, full picture need see number of iphone activations on each carrier on time. see acceleration on each carrier see how verizon has hurt at&t, if @ all. people getting iphones on verizon have not been possible customers at&t whatever reason, ratio means little me.
