OS X server v. OS X client?

hi,

newbie , first post here. apologies in advance if question stupid, i'm totally lost. bought mac mini server, never used osx server before. version 10.6.

mini server replacement regular mini, served audio workstation. boot, log in user, start 3 audio software needed automatically.

have no idea how can achieved osx server, , if it's idea use such or if should revert client. bought server 2 hds instead of 1. thought have more control on services running, system "lean" possible -- free more cpu power music software.

possible this?:

a. have computer boot, log in pre-defined user, launch software automatically?

b. of above without monitor attached?

if so, services need enable/run? (the less, better)

again, i'm using client, don't need of server features. if think doing not idea, feel free express opinion.

thanks,

abba

you should use os x client.

a. set up:
log in automatically (this default shouldn't need change it), , set software "open @ login" (takes few seconds)

b. no monitor? use apple remote desktop, need set first. can target disk mode mac turn on option.
