Slow Network Connectivity

i bought macbook pro , have added network of computers. macpro, windows xp, , mbp. problem when connnect mbp macpro , vice versa, delay of 60sec. once connected can connect initial drive opened. when try connect drive, 60sec. delay again. connections pc instant in direction. have tried both sharing types smb , afp , same problem. of course windows computer won't work afp. have similar experience or suggestions?

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
