Transferring/upgrading iPhoto library error

hi guys,

having major problem thought simple task. i've moved own iphoto library external hd no problems, thought able same girlfriends. no such luck. after copying around 2gb of 34gb states error -36. thought upgrading ilife 11 may solve problem, when iphoto needs upgrade library crashes after few minutes. cleary there corrupted file somewhere in library, how on earth find amongst 20,000 images? , that's assuming 1 file corrupted.

ideas? in advance, can help! :confused:
