Water proof iphone 4 ?

i've got iphone 4 4 months ago, phone, easy use. however, fishing outside london , iphone slipped out of pocket river.

fast retrieve , maximum 2 - 3 seconds under water , turned phone off quickly.
few hours later when i've got london, iphone worked.
 

you extremely lucky individual. iphone 4 in no way waterproof. not water resistant.
