Blue screen of death

so did stupid , mac book pro won't start - goes blue screen spinning wheel.

basically, tried rid of region lock on laptop using firmware:

didn't work changed os x software version number (which 10.5.8) 10.4.9 modifying code in file /system/library/coreservices/systemversion.plist using terminal.

after restarting, laptop won't start up. please help!!

* tried nvram reset, tried load windows, tried load in safe mode - nothing works..except single-user mode.

 

you should able mount drive single user mode , edit plist file changed.
hope using time machine! if so, can restore osx dvd. ********** system settings never thing.
