Call Method Automatically

i'm wondering if there way call method automatically in xcode. need method called continuously no matter what, still leave room other methods run. can't use while (1) statement repeat method on , on because other methods (namely gesturerecognizer methods) won't called. i'm wondering if there way make method called every cycle of code.
 

please explain needs run continuously. specific.

there no way run continuously. periodically, yes. continuously, no.

periodic execution repeating nstimer for. if try make more continuous short duration, you'll bog down performance of else.

start background nsthread, can't run continously either. if try, bog down performance, , you'll find doesn't run continuously anyway, because other threads scheduled temporarily make background thread inactive.

repeating nstimer easier working background nsthread, recommend starting class reference doc nstimer.
