Handbrake, iTunes, and 1080p ripping
just started ripping , encoding 1080p. think in handbrake there none of defaults 1080p beside "normal or high profile" settings @ bottom. should using?
right have sd rips of dvd's -- can't see real reason rip them higher, that's best can , playing on atv2.
started rip blurays. playback atv2 use default atv2 setting in handbrake gives me 720p @ best. rip these down apple universal atv1, ipad , iphones in house. seems work perfectly. have heard people getting 1080p out of atv2; settings using, how should accomplish handbrake?
i'm sure i'm not 1 gets overwhelmed options in handbrake. can handbrake save off presets , have them imported handbrake? if maybe create handbrake preset repository . . . have plenty of space on server , tons of bandwidth share if want use it.
next little bigger question. how these 1080p files itunes. know can tag them hd; wouldn't overwrite 720p version i've been using? i'm thinking might want keep both (is there reason why i'd want this? atv2 limited, leave 720's , 1080's laptops?) don't think itunes has 1080p tag yet; correct?
know of has been discussed in multiple threads here. i'd create 1 definitive thread contains different settings handbrake , idea of creating downloadable repository different handbrake settings people speed faster.

you heard wrong .... can decode 1080p xbmc output 720p display. no point in feeding 1080p gets downscaled anyway 720p @ most.
