Question about warranty

i understand replacement ios devices come 90 day warranty.

buy brand new iphone 4, 1 year warranty, , breaks on day 1 due fault. apple replace it. have 90 day warranty , that's it? spent £499 on device , got 91 day warranty, through no fault of own?

missing something?

i'm in uk.
 

you still remain on 12 month warranty

90 day warranty kicks in if original warranty less 90 days.
