New SSD Dead ???

hello all,
got intel 320 ssd couple of weeks 2009 mbp. working fine until couple of minutes when got spinning beach ball , froze. restarted computer , doesn't boot up: see flashing folder question mark. ssd dead? do?

sure sounds might have died. did try booting off snow leopard disk, , run disk utilities see if sees drive @ all?
