trouble installing leopard on imac G5

hello,

i'm looking solutions / advice trying, unsuccessfully, install leopard on g5 imac.

imac current running panther. when insert the install dvd imac select install option. prompted restart in order commence installation. computer restarts , install doesn't take place.

i've attempted boot off dvd (holding down 'c' key @ start-up) again, nothing happens

imac exceeds system requirements installation , have black install dvd leopard.

advice gratefully accepted.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
