Was thunderbolt a big rip-off?

yes, pretty inflammatory title, , don't mean cause trouble here thunderbolt port thing seems more , more big rip-off.

mean, every time @ of lovely 27" imac, can't think how more useful hdmi port have been on these 2 thunderbolt ports. or if imac came thunderbolt adapter vga out or wold have been nice.

6 months we've had access technology, , apple has show laughably over-priced cord , crazy small amount of 3rd party devices use technology.

thoughts?
 

usb 2.0 didn't take off in 4 months either, or did it?
give time.
btw, have looked @ cable bit closer? has own firmware , chips built it, costs bit.
, adapters hdmi can had monoprice, , hdmi limited video/audio transfer, while tb can used lot more.

cares anyway, tb lose guess many closed minds guess.
