Advice on transferring data to new imac

ok took plunge update 4 year old mac pro new i7 27 inch imac. went 256 ssd , 2 tb drive model. question this.

know can move home folder 2 tb drive once set up. can done @ set up..?. when switch on new mac , asks want transfer old data.

home 1 tb without itunes won't fit on ssd.

done this? has apple thought , imac automatically allocates large home folders hd rather ssd ??

i've not had hands on 1 of these machines, i've heard rumors home directories automatically put on disk drive on these machines.

if that's not true, wouldn't difficult hand:

1) migrate except home directory.
2) create user different name can delete later.
3) use ditto or ccc clone home directory proper drive
4) create proper user account.
5) through advanced settings in system preferences, change location looks home directory.
6) change ownership/permissions of home directory match proper uid.
