Tag, or not to tag... That is the question

what's advantage of tagging in media (e.g moves) vs tagging via itunes

mean, not getting album art itunes (how many times successful?), manually editing info , adding them 1 one.

know it's quicker, automatic software metax or identify, apart that,

can fit more detailed info in media files not possible tagging outside? ease of removal of tags? i'm guessing if media never tagged in file in first place, can change via itunes, dealing software.

so, what's best efficient method used?
 

when 'tag' in itunes, tags stored in itunes database, not in file. if reason wanted copy files computer , load them itunes there, tags not follow. people use other itunes view or manage media; again, tags not follow file.

started using identify , job of looking of tags internet sources , populating them (including artwork). if wanted remove tags or edit them later, can same tool used insert them.
