How do you know if your lcd is going out?

hi there, i've been experiencing annoying problem late 2008 unibody macbook, screen freezes, turns white , pixilates away. have mess stop, wiggle , move around. lately gotten lot worse , wiggling isn't going fix problem. don't know , don't have hardly money. computer means awful lot me , else works great, problem screen getting out of hand. think lcd or perhaps else internal causing it? easy fix myself repair? how think specialist cost?

it's inverter board going out or connection lcd. it's possible fix , not expensive buy parts, don't think it's easy. check out ifixit have guides , can see if it's ok doing yourself. i'm assuming either didn't buy extended warranty or it's expired right?
