Need Help.. MBP 13in M2010

my harddrive failed in 2 month old mbp. replaced larger 500gb drive. when tried install off of restore disk fails. presume because disc scratched.

purchased retail snow lepord disc @ local best buy. (10.6) , when boots says must restart computer , try again. there reason this? know 10.6 came out in 2009 , computer 1 1/2 newer assume issue drivers?

options osx , running?
 

did erase disk first? it's not required may help. boot osx, run disk utility, , erase disk. then, make sure there's 1 partition takes full drive.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
