Are there any good SSH-ing guides?

i know how ssh phone, don't know after that. i'd rather not starting putting , removing files in different places. wondering if of had guide ssh-ing at. stuff how change different theming options stuff. seems people know they're doing when they're messing around in filesytems, , don't want screw up.
