I Only Have 4GB of RAM...is that enough?

itunes, safari, mail, ical, school work, app store, , netflix.

don't edit or make videos or often. not lot.

here's istat :

i'm using 1.06gb
should have 2.94gb free.

whats wired , inactive?

combine free , inactive find what's available apps use.
mac os x: reading system memory usage in activity monitor

launch activity monitor , on system memory tab @ bottom. if page outs , swap used significant, may benefit more ram. however, if they're low numbers or zero, you're not maxing out ram have, adding ram won't make difference in performance.
