Lion Install Stuck on "Preparing for Install"

i installed lion fine on macbook air, when try install on imac goes screen says "preparing install" , progress bar gets tiny bit , moves , fourth pixel or 2 forever. left overnight , never proceeded.

tried restarting , turning off time machine.

have 27" core i7 bootcamp partition of 80gb. still have lots of space free on mac hd.

ideas?
 

i had same problem. hit cancel installation when prompts if sure want quit installation, hit no , continue installation instead. let me know if else successful doing this.

What's the max amount of RAM an iMac can have to run BootCamp & Parallels Windows 7?
