Brand new iPod nano skips songs on playlist

so got brand new 6th generation ipod nano yesterday. today plugged speakers listen in apt, , set playlist "shuffle."

twice while listening played first couple seconds of song on playlist, skipped entirely random song in library wasn't part of playlist.

has happened anyone? took first 1 because battery died in 4 hours, sick of visiting apple store .... solutions?
