Handbrake question

i'm new, did search , didn't find need: have new imac i5. i've downloaded handbrake osx 10.5/10.6 , says it's not compatable mac because it's 64 bit. must have 32 bit machine (there's nothing says in specs). version of handbrake download? other question what's best setting ipad2? when tried preset pc created 7gb file of 2.5 hour dvd movie took 7 hours rip. settings in handbrake confusing me. me make easy! in advance.

 

are sure didn't change default settings on pc? amateurs should able convert , results without tweaking anything. if want better results, need study options individually , experiment them.

know answer wanted hear is: "set 2, 5, , 16...." it's not simple unfortunately. try hard standardize settings, in reality every encode different.
