Dead ipod touch

hey, sorry if isn't right way go posting things i'm new here goes.... so, sister had 4g ipod touch 8gb that, yes jailbroken, , working till went flat , didn't charge few weeks... when tried charge overnight, totally dead. i've tried recovery mode( plugging usb imac itunes open , holding home button before plugging usb ipod) , nothing. after that, tried "dfu" mode (holding both button 10s , releasing sleep button continuing hold home button while connected itunes) , still no response, nothing..... appreciated.... in advance....
 

how long did let sit plugged in? if battery completed depleted, take fair amount of time flip on.
