Mac Pro M7803 keyboard - main USB cable replacement?
for fifty cents picked used mac pro m7803 keyboard (carbon color).
plan use imac 27" - i'd have option of non-wireless keyboard has number pad.
main usb cable connects keyboard computer both data , power whatever reason snipped off pretty right @ base of keyboard.
(see pic below)
figure can't rocket science fix it... seems it'd simple opening keyboard , taking @ where/how usb cable attaches , replacing it. guess it's soldered right onto bit of circuit board inside case.
if lucky it's set sort of connector , unplug , insert new cable... tells me it's not sort of set up.
i've found useful page details resurrecting mac pro keyboard soda-spill-death... opening case , cleaning out etc. there isn't mention per se of usb cable or it's attachment.
my questions kind enough drop info on me are:
1) ever replaced main usb cable on type of keyboard?
2) usb 2.0 cable work or there more need know main usb cable connects keyboard computer?
3) attached i've found far spec usb 2.0 cables standard macs?

no replys... hmmm... i'm guessing people don't bother fixing stuff these days whole new keyboards being better time/value equation... sigh... oh consider science project.
picked set of screwdrivers bits undo screws keyboard apart , popped off caps lock/semi colon , numbers 1-6 keys. no rocket science keyboard really.
can see pics usb wiring matches able find online. that's good... might able away chopping , rigging standard usb cable plug.
however... there small clear rubber bit in i'm not sure is... how important right? famous last words. there tiny (too small eyes , no magnifier on hand now) , other side stamped hash symbol. perhaps knows electronics bit better might recognize symbol meaning something.
@ rate... soldering wires onto board looks rather delicate job... may way go. other option cut away of unknown rubber housing - separate out wires , pair them new cable... delicately wrap them in electrical tape. not sure if work dunno if need shielded or shielding really... cut interference? dunno.
ideas?
