Extending Multiple Monitors

hey

have mid 2010 macbook pro 13". wondering if possible extend macbook pro onto 2 monitors? or if possible extend 2 monitors , have macbook pro shut/open?

if can, need set up?

:)
 

get second monitor (obviously), thunderbolt (or display port) "whatever input said monitor has" , plug in. en, in system pref, under displays, check/uncheck "mirror displays" mirror 1 display, or have 2 separate displays.
