hi guys. got g5 power mac here running 10.5.8 , logitech 5.1 z-5500 digital speakers, connected digital optical toslink cable. problem can't set speakers surround sound. in audio midi setup, can select stereo, , not 5.1 option. in system preferences i've selected "digital out - optical digital-out port". that's fine. music plays fine through speakers. in audio midi setup, choices have in default output , system output drop down boxes "built-in audio". under that, in audio output area, source have "digital out" selected. clicking on configure speakers, have set multichannel, allows me select stereo drop-down box. appreciated!!   the audio midi setup surround sound used when have soundcard capable of outputting on multiple channels. happening here digital optical out (s/pdif) can carry 2 channel pcm (what seeing in audio m...
