hi! system setup follows: * mac pro qc 2,8 ghz mid 2010 * 3 gb stock ram * 4 x 1 tb harddrives, 3 of form 3 tb raid * 120 gb ssd system drive (hooked in 1 of "dvd slot sata cables") * os x 10.6 on 120 gb system drive. boot time used 17 seconds after installing ssd. after while, boot time extended 1-1,5 minutes. it's really slow. main part of boot time spent black screen _prior_ apple logo. thought due boot camp partition, computer got lot slower around time when installed windows... however, removed partition, , boot time still 1+ minutes. computer working fine since bought in august last year, hardly doubt there wrong hardware. thoughts?   off topic: seriously? 3gb ram?   Forums Macs Desktops Mac

i have 13" unibody macbook pro. reason fan died decided replace on own since out of warranty. while replacing fan decided unplug battery well, precaution. went fine (i though) when tried turn on wouldn't turn on until plugged in power adapter. once booted up, battery display had big x in it, , said "no batteries available". tried resetting smc , pram, neither fixed problem. when booting smc reset battery indicator changed "charging" second , went x. find said reset smc , clean battery connections, beyond have no idea do. battery dead reason? ideas on do? first post, appreciate help. on forum.   100% guess on part , not sure of help. "non-userserviceable" mbp batteries , in recent history have chip in them of sort. guessing got upset disconnection somehow, other smc don't have suggestion. bummer.

experts new macbook pro (15 on snow leopard,completely patched date) not recharging. led on "l" magsafe connector not glowing. finally laptop discharged. 3 months full 6 hrs day use or less. same issue? resolutions? tried clean l connector @ both ends, tried different plug points, got mag connectors reconnect. nothing helped. remember last week l connctor led glowing intermittently, wondering if loose connection. out? tried tricks in support apple kb site,nothing worked. recollected few more info latest up, happened on 19 week old mac, capable of 2698mah, 44 cycles @ 29.6 deg c @ 14.5 watts last time. abnormal? tried apple support call centre,but attempted sell apple care !!! :-( totally discharged , died, have metal box now battery: firmware version: 0406 hardware revision: 0002 cell revision: 0158 charge information: charge remaining (mah): 315 charged: no charging: n
