hi all, decided upgrade hdd in imac 1tb 2tb hdd rapidly running out of space , along way learn't couple of valuable lessons hope useful thinking of doing same. without reading bought seagate barracuda xt , took imac bits , cut finger (these things razors) thinking replace hdd have done on old white core 2 duo imac. anyway noticed cable attached wd jumper block wouldn't fit on segate drive turns out if going replace hdd in late 2009 imac need upgrade same drive (albeit higher capacity) installed use propriety cable takes temperature readings drive in turn controls hdd fan , if ain't connected hdd fans spin @ full speed (which noisy) bought 2tb re4 wd , took imac apart again (cutting different finger time) , attached cable in same position old 1 took off , put imac again. dismay hdd fans started spin full speed again, , knew had put cable on right way round started have read around , came across imac hdd fan control allows set ma

since installing lion osx cannot transfer moviefiles (mkv , avi) external harddisks. have 2 different harddisk, working (as example have tried transferring af jpg file, without problems). have run disk utility, said "all ok". both disk worked receiving movie files before upgraded to lion, worked without problem. also, can transfer files (mkv , avi) external hardrives macbook pro (with lion) without problem. happens when try? when try move several mkv/avis-files in folders, batch, folders moved - not content. when try move mkv/avi files seperately, system moves them (and progress "bar" shown - when transfer done, file "removed" moved to... doing wrong?   no 1 same problem, or possible solution?   Forums Macs macOS

alright, here goes. may bit long i'm curious many opinions possible on this. girlfriend (age 21, i'm 22) worked @ private client bank , worked 30 year old man hit on @ work. around christmas time staff party, both there other people drinking (of course) , had idea going sleep night , when didn't happen upset/angry. apparently had told him date encourage him come party or something. nothing happened that's little background info. fast forward now: girlfriend studied abroad 4 months in england , got few days ago. things between great. went , visited 2+ weeks , amazing. had convocation yesterday , , family there , things good. yesterday afternoon texted me saying "dave" (not real name) wanted catch , hang out , asked if alright that. @ first said yeah sure... remembered dave 30 year old work hit on , wanted sleep @ staff party. ask if he's same guy... says yes. same guy no longer works @ bank girlfriend... lives 2 hours away
